Hi there, my name is Marie, and I am a 26-year-old woman who’s finding her place in this fast-changing world. I have two degrees, Journalism and Tourism, which have allowed me to live and work in the UK.

Both those opportunities taught me a lot ranging from self-love to what brings me joy. It showed me how much love I have for the UK as a destination and its various cultural aspects that appeal to people from all over the world.

My two degrees taught me invaluable skills ranging from web copy to communication to photoshop to research. I am interested in various subjects, from travel to photography to making a difference for people.

I finally decided to become a freelancer and chase my dreams. I started Merrily Marie with a goal to give others a glimpse of my thoughts and experiences. Take your time to explore the blog and discover what sparks your interest.

Merrily Marie is a space to share stories and things that mean something to me and to show you that you are not alone.

I have two degrees, allowing me to live and work in the UK. My Journalism internship brought me to London for three months, where I interned at a travel magazine. My tourism internship took me to Haywards Heath, where I made a difference working for a DMC called Luxury Vacations UK.

I finished my Tourism degree in the middle of the global pandemic, which was a reality check when the sector took a massive hit. After working in a few admin jobs, I realized that this is not my purpose in life. It took a while to figure out what I did want to do, and I’m grateful for the steps I decided to take with support from friends and family.

I kept in touch with my internship mentor at LV UK, who gave me the strength and belief I needed to take the next step and become self-employed.
